Warm and Sticky….
Where has the summer been? Back in April, we thought summer was arriving early as at the end of the month, we had a few days where the temperature hit the 90F mark. Then May came in and was rainy and cool as well as most of June and July. We did have some nice days during these months in between the rainy parts.
Now, we are in the middle of August and summer has arrived with vengence! We are in the fifth day where the temperature has been in the upper 80s and low 90s. Today, some areas reached 95F, which is not a frequent event in the northeast. Health alerts and heat advisories were issued today. It looks like we will have a few more days of warm and steamy air to enjoy, although they say it is not supposed to quite as warm - low 80s for a few days.
With the warm and humid air, condtions are just right for the possibility of some nasty old thunderstorms, and they are forecasted for through the weekend.
