Google Moon

Published by mpaulin at 1:00 pm under space flight Edit This

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon, our friends at Google are commemorating this event with the release of Google Moon add on feature. Now you too can explore the moon and relive the historic flights of the Apollo missions.

Download Google Earth 5.0 from here http://earth.google.com/moon/index.html. Then, select ‘Moon’ from the top tool bar and start exploring. With this program, you will be able to visit the Apollo landing sites with narration from the astronauts, view 3D models of the spacecraft, zoom into 360 degree photos to see where the astronauts walked, and watch rare TV footage of the Apollo missions.

Have fun with Google Moon and keep on exploring – what will Google introduce next?
