A Road in Dublin, NH after the Ice Storm

As a snow storm approaches southern New England today (and another one is slated for Sunday), the utility folks are scrambling like beavers to get as many folks back online with electrical power that was knocked out as a result of last week’s ice storm.  Crews (from Canada and many states, including Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, and Ohio) moved into the Monadnock Region yesterday and through the night to continue the work rebuilding the region’s electrical infrastructure.  Working 14 - 16 hours a day, the workers are being praised by the citizens of the area that will stop and say thanks and bring them gifts of coffee, food, and friendship. As of this morning, there still remained around 35,000 that were still without power, this is down from the over 400,000 last Friday.  They hope to have as many folks back online by the end of the weekend, however, they have indicated that there will still be some that may not have it until after Christmas.
