86,000 Remain Without Power

Published by mpaulin at 1:05 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

As New Hampshire continues to recover from the ice storm of last week, PSNH, the local electric utility company estimates that over 86,000 customers are still without electricity.  Crews continued work yesterday and brought the count down from 106,000 during yesterday and over night.  There are about 45 towns that are on the list with no restoration date set as the destruction in these localities is too great for an estimated date to be declared.

Snow fell across the state last night and into today with up to five inches of accumulation in the Monadnock Region.  This snow fall has not hindered the work crews and they are still plugging away at their work of clearing trees and downed powerlines.  Forecast is for clearning, but cold with night time temperatures diving into the single digits.  All eyes are on Friday as some forecasts are calling for a mixed bag of snow, sleet, and freezing rain.

Thanks for your offer of prayers - we can still use them. I am still without power as of this morning, there remains about 10,0000 without power as of the morning of December 22, 2008.
