Rare snowfall in FL on this day in 1912

Published by mpaulin at 8:39 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Snowfall is a rare event in Florida!  The second earliest snowfall for Florida (and its only November snowfall) fell during the night across parts of the interior counties in the far NW, bordering GA.  Up to 1/2 inch was reported at Mt. Pleasant.  (from the Weather Channel archives).

Today, begins my blogging adventures at Today.com.  Intespersed through the blogs will be some history, adventure and some fun.   My interests in the sciences include weather, astronomy, geology, and geocaching.  I enjoy hiking and exploring the great outdoors, so sometime I might just write about one of my hiking adventures.

The weather here in NH, unlike FL, we get snow on a regular basis and on this day after Thanksgiving, woke up to light snowfall and about 1/2 inch total.  By the afternoon, the sun was out and then the clouds rolled back in by sunset.  Low temperature for today was 28F and the high was 40F.
